(C)→Chiyoda TMC
Our 201th meeting was the joint meeting with Chiyoda Toastmasters Club. Our president, Mr. I., called the meeting to order, and introduced Ms. S. as TMOE (ToastMasters Of Evening). She also took the role, “Word of the Evening,” and presented “Adaptive.” Her explanation was really understandable, so the word was used many times during the meeting.
In the speech session, we had three speakers.
The first speaker was Ms. K. (C), and the title was “3 times.” She had made an effort to get TOEIC high score, so she has finally gotten three times higher than before.
The second speaker was Mr. M. (N), and the tile was “Real Jakarta.” He used to live in Jakarta due to his business, so he explained about the place, and cultural differences, e.g. delay of traffic, custom of tips, and Japanese community.
The third speaker was Ms. A. (N), and the title was “Seize the fortune by the forelock.” Her project was storytelling, so she told her original story in her speech. That was a man traveled all around the world to obtain “hair-growth drug”!!
Because of joint meeting, we could enjoy the intermission with “snack”!! (We usually do not prepare any snacks in our regular meeting.) It leaded good communication for meeting new people among two club members.
After the intermission, Mr. I. (N) started the Table Topics session. His questions were “Tell us about your….. Boss, Country, Toastmasters, Family, Music, Yourself, Home Town, and Wife.” Mr. S.(N) said his boss would be his future wife. Mr. M.(C) performed “Blind Rubik’s Cube” as a Japanese representative. Mr. O.(C) told what he learned from Toastmasters. Mr. F.(C) explained the relationship with his wife should be fine because his daughter has left his house. Ms. K.(N) made a boast of the number of her collection of CD, 500!! Mr. M.(C) was brought up with strict discipline, so he did not want to do same thing to his child. A guest, Mr. H. said about his home town, “Yachiyo.” Finally, Mr. A.(N) talked about his wife, Ms. A♪
In the evaluation session, we had three evaluators.
The first evaluator was Mr. F. (N), and evaluated the first speaker Ms. K’s speech. Even though the evaluation was his first one, that was really great. He raised three main points and one improvement with his wonderful smile and “soft and attractive” voice.
The second evaluator was Mr. I.(C), and evaluated the second speaker Mr. M’s speech. The most wonderful point was he never looked at his note during evaluation. I was so surprised!
The third evaluator was Mr. K.(C), and evaluated the third speaker Ms. A’s speech. He used the white board to list Ms. A’s good points, simple, universe, and twist.
The best Speaker was Ms. A.(N)
The best Evaluator was Mr. I.(C)
and the best Table Topic speaker was Mr. A.(N)
Congratulations!
