How does it work? 何をしているの？
Our meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. Nihonbashi club has about 30 members as of July 2017.
There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.
Members use by Pathways which configure a manual of 10 pathes. Members choose a path in Pathways and learn two skills; public speaking by speech and leadership skills by taking on various meeting roles, take a event.
In our learn-by-doing approach, we don't lecture members about leadership skills; we give them responsibilities and mentoring to help. Then we ask them to lead.
トーストマスターズは例会が学ぶ場です。プレッシャーのない楽しい雰囲気の中でスピーチし、コミュニケーションとリーダーシップスキルを学びます。日本橋クラブは2019年1月の時点で約35人のメンバーが在席しています。
トーストマスターズには先生はいません。その代わり、会員は互いのスピーチ、プレゼンを評価します。お互いにフィードバックをすることで、会員は一方でプレゼンの効果的な方法を学び、もう一方で効果的なフィードバックの仕方を学びます。また、例会では毎回即興スピーチのコーナーもあります。そのほか、例会の司会や、計時、文法やパーラメンタリープロシージャーに関連するスキルを学びます。
会員になるとパスウェイズというマニュアルを使い、10個のパスの中から1つ選び、自分のペースで5つのレベルを進めます。これによりコミュニケーションスキル、そして様々な例会の役割、イベント企画をこなすことによってリーダーシップスキルを学びます。
我々は会員にリーダーシップスキルを講義するわけではありません。やってみて覚えるというアプローチを行います。それぞれの例会では出席する会員全員に役割を与え、スキルを学ぶ機会を設けます。

Step 1: Visit a Toastmasters club.
- Your visit is free up to 3 times.
- Contact form in advance to confirm a meeting time and location.
Step 3: Give your application to the vice president membership and dues to the treasurer at the club.
- Once you are voted in by the existing membership, the club officer will send your application and fees to Toastmasters’ World Headquarters.
