These days, new members are given a chance to be the role of “the toastmasters of evening, TMOE.” It is really great experience to be a host of a meeting, and TM OF accomplished his first role as TMOE. That was really great job!
TM MY suggested to use the word of the evening “Ring a Bell.” Her explanation was really easy to understand so many speakers could use this word during the meeting.
This week, we had three prepared speeches.
First speaker was TM MH, and the title was “Teamwork and Individual Work.” He talked that individual work and communication could lead a good and successful corporation. As an example, he explained about soccer in the body part. His speech was so improved, compare to first time, especially, the “ah-counter” said that his “ah” was just two times! However, unfortunately, time was little bit short. TM ES evaluated that he could elaborate an example story about soccer, and put more materials in the body part.
The second speaker was TM AM. Her speech title was “Road to volunteer.” She introduced how to treat visual handicapped people. As an example, she showed how to get on the elevator with a blind person. She concluded that her dream would be taking part in a marathon race with a blind person. Her speech structure was really excellent, so she got the best speaker award. TM DI had nothing but praised for her speech as “seemed an advanced speaker,” even though she had just finished CC#2.
The third speaker was TM YC, and the title was “Fruits Paradise, Taiwan.” His speech was in an unhurried tempo, so it was really good atmosphere. He explained three Taiwanese fruit. “Wax apple, Sugar apple, and Mango.” I like his explanation of “Sugar apple.” That looks like “Buddha’s hair.” And it is very perishable, so we cannot import it from Taiwan, so we need to go there to eat! He used many visual materials; it was really understandable to know them. TM SN evaluated his speech as “good title, enjoyable, and good atmosphere.”
Tonight’s best evaluator was TM ES. Congratulations!
On 22nd of March, we will have the Area contest, so we had a practice and feedback session for contestants. Our representative member TM MO practiced and got many feedbacks from club members. TM MO, go for it!
Because we had some extra times, TM DA arranged the rest of time as the Table Topic session, and TM KO took a role as a table topic master. He asked some question about “March.” This week a guest got a table topic speaker award! Congratulation!
Next meeting will be “Area Contest” at Hamacho Kuminkan from 13:00 on March 22nd. Please come and enjoy our great speeches!
Moreover, on March 26th is our regular Japanese meeting at Nihonbashikokaido from 19:00.
