Unfortunately, three of outgoing officers were absent but everybody applauded their achievements.
The 177th meeting was opened by TM M.H from Germany. Although it was his first time to serve as TMOE, he looked very reserved and confident, and successfully managed the meeting. This good- looking TMOE from Germany stole the show with a nice voice!
The word of the evening was “Triumphant”. It is a beautiful word but a bit difficult to use. Actually, nobody could handle this word in this meeting.
After the role introduction, we had 4 prepared speeches.
1st Speaker: TM M.Y Title: “How to communicate with others” CC#3:”Get to the point” She effectively shared with us how she got over her communication problems by showing compassion or empathy to others. It was very candid and honest presentation, which showed her personality quite well. She was the winner of prepared speeches!
2nd speaker: TM A.M Title: “Memories of Classical movies” #4 How to Say It She demonstrated how she was inspired and motivated by three old films, which she described as her “moral textbooks”, Gone with the Wind, Twelve angry men, and the Gentlemen’s agreement. She was good at getting into the characters, introducing memorable lines from those films. Very impressive.
3rd speaker: TM Y.C Title: “Shut eyes must be 7 hours a night for our own health.” CC#10 Inspire your audience. Congratulations on completing CC#10! It was a very energetic speech and we could learn that our modern lifestyle might kill you and sleeping well is important to maintain our health. He was so passionate that he could not notice he was running out of time! Actually, it was his second time to try CC#10.
4th Speaker TM D.A Title: ”CL manuals as a part of speech” as Manual Project 1 What an informative speech! We were asked why Toastmasters Club focuses on leadership, which was an ultimate question! The answer lies in the Toastmaster’s slogan;” Where leaders are made”. All great leaders are great communicators! From his speech, all of us became highly motivated for using CL manual. His speech taught me a lot of things that I wanted to know.
After the intermission, we had a table topic session. TM S.N, a table topic master, was very fresh and confident. The topic was about reviewing the first half and forecasting the latter half of 2015, or in the future. TM M.A was the best table topic master.
